Warbird & Wheels visitor attraction
Wanaka Airport’s new visitor attraction, Warbirds and Wheels, is on track to meet its goal of opening before Christmas,
with finishing touches being made to the displays.
Developed by the Warbirds over Wanaka Community Trust it will feature aircraft, classic cars, war memorabilia, artworks
and a retail shop. Many artefacts were sourced from the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum, which closed earlier this year.
A diner-style cafe opened as part of the attraction about two weeks ago.
